Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
This policy explains how bestoffer.org (the "site"), operated by QEIP LLC, an Ohio limited liability company ("we", "us"), collects and uses personal information. We collect little: the site has no accounts and no payments. To ask a question or exercise a right below, use our contact form.
1. What we collect
Appraisal tool
- The domain you enter. We store it with its estimates and research results. Results for a domain are cached and may be shown to other visitors who appraise the same domain.
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used to apply the daily appraisal limit and stored with the appraisal record. We do not store your IP address itself for this purpose.
Contact form
Your name, email address, subject and message. We store the message and email it to the team that answers it.
Forms on this site use Jid Signals, which reads your approximate location and network type from your connection to help prevent fraud; your IP address is not stored. When you submit a form, we check the business details you give (such as your e-mail address, company name, phone number, location and message) with Jid (jid.com), our fraud-prevention provider, to confirm the enquiry comes from a real business. Leads are stored by Jid as our processor: Jid keeps the enquiry (your name, e-mail address, phone number, company, website and message) with its result in our leads inbox, encrypted, for up to 12 months, or less if we delete it sooner. For the check itself, Jid keeps the result, your e-mail domain, a keyed one-way hash of your e-mail address and a one-way hash of the message for 30 days. After we review an enquiry we may mark it with Jid as legitimate, a sales pitch, spam or a scam. Jid keeps that report for up to 24 months with the company and e-mail domain concerned and the keyed hash of your e-mail address (never the address itself). Jid publishes only counts about businesses, once at least two independent businesses agree, never anything about an individual (jid.com/privacy, section 2b). The Verified on Jid badge in the footer is an image loaded from jid.com. Like any web server, its host sees your IP address and user agent when the image loads; it sets no cookie and runs no script.
Newsletter
Your email address. We first send one confirmation email and store nothing else. Only when you click the confirmation link is your address added to our mailing list and recorded with the date you confirmed.
Stored in your browser, not by us
Your appraisal history and a count of the appraisals you have run today are kept in your browser's local storage so the History page and the daily counter work without an account. They never leave your device unless you export or download them. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Technical and log data
Like any website, our hosting and security providers receive your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, the referring page and the time, and keep short-term logs for security and troubleshooting.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and receives your IP address and device details. We have turned off Google Signals and ad personalisation for this property, and we do not run advertising trackers. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, the analytics tag is not loaded at all. You can also block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on. Our forms and appraisal tool use Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that reads device and browser signals to tell people from bots.
2. How we use it
- to run appraisals and show your results;
- to answer your messages and send the newsletter you confirmed;
- to apply usage limits and protect the site against abuse, spam and automated traffic;
- to understand how the site is used and improve it;
- to comply with law and enforce our terms.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)
We rely on your consent for the newsletter (which you give by confirming by email and can withdraw at any time); on taking steps at your request when we answer a message or run an appraisal; on our legitimate interests in securing, measuring and improving the site; and on legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that process it for us, under contract:
- website hosting and content delivery;
- our database host, which stores appraisals, messages and newsletter confirmations;
- email delivery providers, which send confirmation emails and route contact messages, and our newsletter platform, which holds the mailing list;
- Google, for analytics as described above;
- Cloudflare, for the Turnstile security check;
- AI and domain data providers, which receive only the domain name you appraise (never your name, email or IP address) to produce estimates and research.
Contact messages about selling or buying a domain may be read by people at QEIP, a domain brokerage under common management with the site, so they can answer. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
5. Your California privacy rights
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. Our analytics is configured without advertising features, and we honour Global Privacy Control by not loading it. California residents may ask to know, access, correct or delete their personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for asking.
6. How long we keep it
- Cached appraisal results are refreshed after 30 days; appraisal records and the hashed IP are kept while useful for running and improving the tool.
- Contact messages are kept as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted when no longer needed.
- Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only what we need to honour the unsubscribe.
- Server and security logs are kept for short periods set by our providers.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, restricted access to our database and email systems, a security check and rate limits on every form. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information through the forms.
8. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict some uses, and to withdraw consent. Use our contact form to make a request; we may need to verify that the request comes from you, and we will answer within the time the law sets. Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link. Your local-storage history is under your control in your browser. If you are in the EEA or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
10. Children
The site is not directed to children and is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Do Not Track
Browsers' Do Not Track settings have no agreed standard, so we do not respond to them. We do honour Global Privacy Control as described above.
12. Changes
We will post any change to this policy here with a new date. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
